Posted on 25 October 2012

Exercise, exercise, exercise – but that’s not all you need! The right foods are important!

This is how we stay healthy. Exercise helps us reduce weight, helps us lower our chelesterol, keeps our heart healthy and counteracts bad stress. But can it help cure cancer?

This article on Mens Health got me thinking about it a litte bit. (How Exercise Can Help Cure Cancer)

Based on the few listed facts above of what it can do: of course it can help cure cancer!

Exercise helps boost your immune system. But is that all you need? Foods, antioxidants, and vitamins are needed to do so.

Here’s a list of MY FAVORITE fruits and vegetables filled with beta-carotene & other carotenoids to keep in your diet journal of what you can eat to help boost your immune system:

Apricots
Asparagus
Broccoli
Corn
Green peppers
Mangoes (I LOVE MANGOES)
Nectarines
Peaches
Pink grapefruit
Squash
Spinach
Sweet potato
Tangerines
Tomatoes

Vitamin C related FAVORITES:
Berries

Red, green or yellow peppers

Vitamin E related FAVORITES:

Other super foods that are on my FAVORITE LIST that are rich in antioxidants include: Prunes, Apples, Raisins, All berries, Plums, Red grapes, Alfalfa sprouts, Onions, Eggplant, Beans.

Believe it or not, here are other antioxidants that may help boost immunity include:

Zinc: Found in oysters, red meat, poultry, beans, nuts, seafood, whole grains, fortified cereals, and dairy products
Selenium: Found in Brazil nuts, tuna, beef, poultry and fortified breads, and other grain products

Eat the right foods along with a regular exercise routine: which should include moderate to intense cardio along with moderate resistance training, and you are fighting off cancer!
